Kirby,

The Standard Version and the Deluxe version are the same program with the same data structures. The Standard version has some features disabled but there is no loss of data or other effects when you transfer a data file between the two versions.

Here is an extract from the License.txt file you will find in your Legacy Program Folder.

"1. GRANT OF LICENSE. Millennia grants to you the right to use the enclosed Millennia program (the SOFTWARE). You may install it on more than one computer (such as a laptop) as long as there is no chance of more than one copy being used at the same time."

Hi,

I'm a registered user of the Deluxe Edition of Legacy which I've installed on my desktop machine. Recently the opportunity arose to visit a Records Office in another part of the country (the UK). I decided to download a copy of the Standard Edition onto my daughters laptop and copied across the latest database files. The Standard Edition read these fine and allowed me to search for matches with entries at the Records Office. The Standard Edition has a number of limitations - so not all of the data is accessible.

I've got two questions:-

Q1: I wondered afterwards what would have happened if I had made new entries to my database on the laptop using the Standard Edition - and then copied the database back to my desktop machine (running the Deluxe Version) - would anything be lost?

Q2: Does the licensing agreement allow the Deluxe software to be installed on a second machine?

Many thanks

Kirby
