Gail
Many thanks for your help - the detail you described is exactly the way I
had thought I should be recording it, with one exception, with the records I
was referring to all being Pedigree Resource Files, I've also added the
Submission Number' which would enable anyone to go straight to the 'source'
as it were.
Many thanks for your help - also thanks for the APG-L list detail - on my
way there now!!
Best Wishes
Jan

Hi Jan, I don't have any of these as sources in my own database right now,
but if you really want an expert opinion, subscribe to the
[EMAIL PROTECTED] list. Elizabeth Mills sometimes answers source citation
questions directly, and there are also many listers there who are very
helpful.

In general, I would list the name of the source (i.e. Pedigree Resource
File), the database name and link where it comes from, and the author of the
database (if there is one listed). This is master source info. Then for
the citation detail, you can list the person's name and the submitter's name
and submitted date (if available). In the notes, you can paste in exactly
what you see on the screen. If you give me a link to see one of yours, I
will be glad to take a more specific stab at it. I'm no expert, but I do
have a big interest in source citations in general.

Best of luck!
