Candace, I think you will need to delete some additional files and then reinstall Legacy 6.0. Before you start, make sure you have your Legacy 6 Deluxe Edition Customer ID Number because you will need it for the last step. You can find it in Legacy by clicking on Help and selecting General Information.
Next find the Legacy 6.0 folder icon (not the red and blue shield icon) and click on Uninstall Legacy 6.0 within the folder. After Legacy 6.0 is uninstalled proceed with the steps below. 1. With Windows Explorer or My Computer find and look in the C:\Legacy folder or whatever folder you had Legacy installed in. Within this folder you will find several files remaining that you will need to delete. Carefully delete all of the files in the Legacy folder but DO NOT delete any of the folders like the Data folder, Picture Folder or Web Folder as these folders hold your data and you don't want to accidentally delete your family file (ends with .FDB) or pictures. All the other files should be deleted. 2. Download and install the current build of Legacy 6 .0 from http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/DownloadLegacy.asp. Use “Install from the Web” for the fastest install. 3. Last, start Legacy 6 .0 and click on Help, Unlock Deluxe Edition and enter your version 6.0 Deluxe Edition Customer Number. I have been to the support section of the web site and have done everything suggested to fix it, but still have the problem. I have the current Legacy build, my XP SP2 system has had all critical maintenance applied, I've done the database check/repair, exported to another Legacy file, removed and reinstalled Legacy. The only thing I did differently is that, after reading the Microsoft page which describes the Jet engine update, I realized that SP2 has a later version than the one Legacy was suggesting I use so I stayed with that one. So my question is - do I need to go to the back-level version of the Jet engine, and if I do, what will that do to my non-Legacy Access databases, which are working fine now? I have sent this problem to Legacy support, but haven't heard from them yet, so thought I'd ask here, too.
