Hi Karen,

With respect to your step children, if you are referring to a descendant report of your family then they will not show up as they are not (strictly speaking) your family's descendants.

Regarding your sister's children can you say which narrative report you are using then I can check my own records. I know that in my database they still have the same RIN (and only one) but on the Pedigree web pages two pages are created one with the RIN say 217 and the other 217a

Subject: [LegacyUG] Linking step-children? Date: Fri, 14 Apr 2006 13:57:47 -0700

Hello,

I'm fairly new to Legacy software but have been grappling with a problem for quite some time now. I don't know how I should enter my step-children in the program so that they (and their children) show up when I print out a descendants report. If I list them with their two biological parents, they don't show up in the report. If I add them to my file as children it appears that they are my biological children.

And a related question..... When I "linked" my sister's children from her first marriage to her second husband they appeared twice with two different numbers in a narrative report. How do I get all the "blended families" to show up together?

I've looked through the help files and have been unable to find an answer.

Thanks for your assistance in advance.

Karen Dierksen
