One of the suggestions to do with Legacy freezing may help.
Can you get to the edit screen by left clicking on a person in one of
the central positions in Family View? That is, can't you get to an
edit screen or is it just this way of getting there that isn't working?
If not, it may simply be you don't have enough memory available and
need to close some other programs.
