Hi Bruce,
It would seem that you have you do not have your half-cousin linked to her
natural father so you need to link her to the "marriage" (or rather
non-marriage) of her natural father and natural mother. If you do not want
her adopted father to appear linked to her at all you can remove the link to
her natural mother and adoptive father. It is perfectly possible to have a
child linked to two or more sets of parents.
You can see how this appears on web pages by visiting

I understand that if the person is left linked to both marriages then two
sets of ancestors will be published in written reports, although I have not
tried this myself.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Adoptive vs. Biological
Date: Thu, 1 Jun 2006 17:02:26 -0400
My impatient half-cousin wants to see her ancestry report show her "real"
or biological g-grandfather(Phillip) and his ancestors vs.
the ancestry of the man(William) who adopted her grandmother(Myrtle). I am
a new user so haven't been able to figure this one out. I inidcated in the
marriage section that Phillip & Myrtle did not marry and indicated in
another section that William is the adoptive father and Myrtle is the
biological mother. I even set Myrtle and Phillip as preferred spouses in
the family grouping, but whenever I print out an ancestry report it reverts
back to Myrtle and William. Any thoughts or solutions. Thanks, Bruce
