Hi Tracy,
My goal is to share CDs with family, unfortunately, those receiving the CDs
aren't very computer savvy and I am trying to decide which is the better
method for sharing information - CD with data in webpage layout or using a
copy of my file in the free version of Legacy.
I gave CDs with my Legacy data and a copy of the program to two of my aunts, not
the most computer-savvy people around but capable of doing a lot of things with
them, and neither were comfortable with it and did not make use of the disks
even though they were interested in my findings.
Later on, I discovered the web page creation in Legacy, and have found sending
this via CD to the aunts much more effective. They are comfortable moving
around a web site and clicking on links, so will sit and click away back and
forth through the ancestors. I also copied over all my documents onto the disks
as well, so they could browse at their leisure and I had a backup, too; some
were linked to the web pages but most weren't.
The idea of making the disks autorun sounds good to me - even easier than what
I've sent out before. I haven't tried it though, so can't comment on its
effectiveness. Looking forward to hearing some feedback from others. :-)
Kind Regards,
Wendy Howard
