Excuse me if this question has already been raised. I am currently involved in a project that has chosen OSM as cartographic base for a portal for tourists. There will be an ontology to allow for semantic research and the idea is to display POIs, pictures and other multimedia content on an OSM map (in the web and on mobile devices). Currently it is thought to have all multimedia content (where possible) in CC-BY-SA.
After the planned license changeover to ODbL: 1. Would it be possible to display this content (CC-BY-SA) atop an OSM map? 2. Will we have to release the content of the ontology / thesaurus database in ODbL ? Will we have to import this stuff into OSM (I guess no) or will it be sufficient to have it available? 3. If 1 is no, would CC-BY be compatible with ODbL?
