I have a nice VXA tape drive for sale. It will back-up up to 66GB on
a single tape and is reasonably fast as tape drives go. It's in
excellent cosmetic and functional condition. It includes the power
supply, documentation and SCSI cable with adapter. I will include 8
tapes (used) and a cleaner tape with the unit. Tapes are readily
available from several vendors but if you run an incremental backup
and recycle the media you probably won't use additional tapes. You
will need Retrospect to backup from your Mac to this tape drive.
Under OS X Bru is the only other option that I know of other than
Retrospect (Retro always worked fine for me). The VXA drive and tape
technology is superior to almost every other form of tape backup. It
uses packet technology and on-the-fly data recovery. This drive will
work with any Mac that has a SCSI bus or that can accept a SCSI card.
I used it with my MDD Macs across a network under both OS 9 and OS x
in a pre-press environment and it always worked flawlessly. Asking
$65.00 + shipping from Tampa, FL 33603. Paypal preferred but other
payment options are okay if you talk with me first. Thanks - Richard
Feltner
