I have for sale an iPod Video 5G which is 'locked at the motherboard.' I was given the iPod to fix after a fall cracked the screen. I replaced the screen and when booted, could not find the hard drive. Restore after restore, nothing better occurred.
I decided to replace the hard drive with a compact flash adaptor and card. The combo installed fine and after successfully restoring the iPod, I was greeted with the language select screen and a lock symbol. No number of lock slides or button combos could get the thing to budge. I then replaced the headphone jack and hold switch. Still no avail. It does boot and light when power applied via usb, but I cannot surpass the initial Language Selection Screen. Summary: New Screen, Compact Flash Adaptor and Headphone Jack/Lock- Hold switch. Does not unlock and seems to be 'locked at the logic board' $70 shipped Zack Rogers 48185 Westland, MI --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to LEM-Swap.
