This iBook answers the question of what happens to an iBook after a teenager
has had it for two years. If I haven't turned you off to it yet, here's an
honest assessment of what is going on.
It still works great, but...
* The major issue as that the AC in port is loose, it first required
inserting the jack at just the right angle/contact point to complete the
connection. Achieving that magic spot is now a rare occurrence.
* The bottom plastic skin is peeling off the case, and portions of it
around the rim appear to be stretched beyond the original size.
* There is a small vertical line of I would say 4-6 dead pixels. It
was like that when we got it, and has not grown. The screen is otherwise
bright and clear.
* Keyboard (F7 key is from a blueberry keyboard), trackpad, DVD ROM
(bezel intact) are all good.
* Battery is included, but it's deadThe specs on this, as you will
receive it, are an initialized 10GB hard drive, that works good and is not a
whiner, 192MB of RAM, DVD drive works. I'll include a new aftermarket AC
adapter for $10 if you want it. Again, this is a 466 MHz Graphite SE.
Offered as is, as described. Assume $12 shipping to the lower 48 in a Priority
Mail medium Fla rate box, protected with bubble. - Make an Offer to save this
before it gets parted out. Seriously - if you can resolve the power-in issue,
you will have a good working laptop.
