Time to find a home for this cute computer, a 700 MHz 15" G4 "lamp" iMac. It was my daughters until it developed the GPU problem. Fine on start up then the video gets flaky as it warms up. The display is fine till it gets hot so it LCD and backlight are fine. An external display has the same issues so the problem is the graphics chip coming loose from the motherboard. After a few years i have to admit that I don't have the time to repair it. Besides she's moved on to a dual 1.25 G mirror door so I don't expect she wants to go back to the iMac. It's got 384 Gb Ram, the user accessible RAM slot is deformed but seemd to work before I swiped the ram for a powerbook. The hard drive is 40 GB Maxtor and the optical drive is a Sony CD-RW. If anyone's interested I can sent pics of the video errors.
How about $50 plus postage? I've got a foam fitted box for safe shipping, if I sell this I can recover the space the box is taking up as well as the space occupied by the computer. Although the computer still looks good on the shelf even if it doesn't work... Andrew King Ann Arbor Michigan -- You received this message because you are a member of the LEM Swap group.
