I have for sale a Microtek ScanMaker E3 flatbed scanner, which works with Mac or PC. Manufacturer's page: http://support.microtek.com/product_dtl_2.phtml?prod_id=96
- Minimum Mac System Requirements: Quadra or PowerPC computer running System 7.1 or later with at least 8 MB RAM (16 MB for the OCR software) - SCSI interface for Macintosh - Up to 24 bit scanning (16.7 million colors), single-pass - 300x600 dpi optical resolution; 4800x4800 dpi interpolated resolution - Scanning area 8.5" x 13.5" - Original software CD includes, for the Mac, ColorIt! 3.0, OmniPage Limited Edition 4.1.0, the Microtek ScanWizard software (drivers/plug-ins), and Acrobat Reader 3.0. (The PC part of the CD-ROM includes Microtek ScanWizard 2.36, Ulead PhotoImpact 3.01SE, OmniPage LE, Acrobat Reader, and Adapatec EZ-SCSI Lite 4.01) The manufacturer's page lists driver/plugin downloads for OS 7.5 through 9.x.x. (as well as Windows 3.1 through XP). - Also included is a special parallel-to-SCSI and pass-through cable for PCs; for Mac you'll need either a 25-to-25 or a 25-to-50 SCSI cable (it has connections for both). - Shipped in its original box. I hooked up the scanner to a PowerMac 7100 (OS 7.5.5) with a 25-to-25 SCSI cable, installed the software, and successfully scanned two test documents (one grayscale, one full color). Seems to work just fine. It seems likely that this could be made to work with OSX by using SANE (http://www.sane-project.org/man/sane-microtek.5.html). Asking for $15 plus shipping (UPS Ground, daily pickup rates; the box weighs 22 lbs). Payment via PayPal is preferred. -John Nephew Saint Paul, MN 55104 -- You received this message because you are a member of the LEM Swap group.
