Got this from another list member a few months ago. Bought as a parts machine and it has actually operated well as is. It's just now starting to get a little wonky for me and I think it's time to swap or sell, as I am not technically inclined and won't be able to fix whatever is wrong.
This is a 1st generation Black Macbook (2006) with 2 gigahertz processor, 1 gig RAM, and 80 gig hard drive. The Superdrive does not recognize discs. Airport works as it should as do the USB 2.0 ports. Its power supply has the super-long cord. Battery is completely dead. The good: although I bought it as a parts machine, it has been used successfully, as is, on a daily basis since I acquired it. The bad: the laptop seems to have an issue with staying powered on. This was the issue for the previous owner as well, and while it was well behaved for me for quite a while after I purchased it, it's now starting to lose power intermittently for no reason I can figure out. I have no idea what might be wrong; neither did the previous owner. I've felt like a very lucky person to have purchased a working Macbook for the price of a parts machine, and I think it might be time for someone who knows what they are doing to get their hands on it and try to fix it. I'd like to swap this for a G4 Powerbook. Please e-mail offers. Lori Weiner Buffalo Grove, IL 60089 -- You received this message because you are a member of the LEM Swap group.
