Fellow LEM swappers, I have for sale a very nice, new, NEVER used, acomdata external drive housing (2TB drive carefully removed for re-purposing in a Time Capsule upgrade).
This is a nice aluminum housing with black plastic trim that has USB2.0, firewire400, firewire800, and eSata ports. It has an on/off switch and activity/power light. The separate power brick is a substantial one (not a small wall wart) that has a detachable AC power cord. It is in the package I bought it in, along including the drive enclosure itself (with HD mounting screws packed inside), the AC power supply, a USB cable, a Firewire 400 cable, and a Firewire 800 cable. No eSata cable was included with the original product. The removed drive was 2TB, so I would think it could accommodate at least that size HD and possibly a larger one, as long as it is the standard 3.5inch SATA configuration. I purchased this directly from acomdata new, NOT refurbished, on a clearance sale a while ago, and just today decided to use the 2TB hard drive inside as a replacement for my Time Capsule hard drive, since I have no current need for an external drive. this is the exact model at Newegg (discontinued): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822216059 PLEASE NOTE that the hard drive housing I am selling DOES NOT have a hard drive inside! I am asking $35 plus actual shipping (much lighter without the hard drive inside!) and from that I will donate $10 to Low End Mac in response to Dan Knight's recent email asking for help in continuing the operation of Low End Mac - this fine resource that I find to be very valuable.
