Being the completely insane person I am, I've been wanting a '90s Apple office setup for a while now, and I figure I might as well look into it. I've done a bit of research on MacTracker, but I still don't quite know what I'm talking about, so please bear with me.
Here's what I'm looking for: 1. An Apple branded printer, as new and high quality as possible. I'd prefer a StyleWriter 2500 (I like the design and compact size better than the later models, and speed isn't important to me), and a portable like the Color StyleWriter 2200 would be the best, but I have a feeling those are probably somewhat rare and expensive by now. I'd really be interested in anything as long as the price is right. Color is definitely preferred, but not strictly required, and I'd prefer any of the upright, compact models over the bulky professional models. As much as I'd love a LaserWriter, they are just too huge, so anything larger than the LaserWriter 4/600 PS would be out of the question unless I were able to arrange a local deal. I assume that drivers wouldn't be required since I see so many Apple printers listed in the Chooser, but if there actually was any software included with these printers I would want that too. 2. An Apple brand scanner, preferably a Color OneScanner 1200/30, but I'd be interested in anything if the price is right. I would need the software too (if there was any, that is). This is basically just a crazy dream of mine, so I'm not sure that I'd be able to do anything about it right now. What I'm really interested in is prices. Please send me any and all asking prices. I've got no idea what to expect, so if they are expensive I'll have to pass, but if they are cheap enough I might just go ahead and buy them right now. I would also be very interested in a trade, I have a few old PowerBooks and a couple of desktop Macs, let me know if you want to hear more. Please note: I already have an ImageWriter II for printing documents from my older Macs and a modern printer/scanner, so please no Mac-compatible printers and scanners, only Apple branded models. While I do intend to use them, they would mainly be for nostalgia. Also, I'm only interested in working units. It is fine if the ink is dried up, but please, no broken items or missing parts. Finally, if anyone has any tips or advice on using these older printers or tracking down parts, I would appreciate it.
