Consider these (I have three) a predecessor to the MacBook Air -- a laptop without an optical drive. Because that's what I have got, a G3 iBook in good working and looking condition, except the CD does not work. It keeps spitting out any type of CD media.
Besdies the above mentioned issue, this describes the worst case scenario of the iBook you would receive. Specs: 600 MHz, 20 GB HD, 384 MB RAM, Airport The battery takes and holds a charge, and indicates more than an hour of battery life. The 12" screen and bezel/hinges are good. One or both of the screen bumpers may have felt pad replacements. The cases show the normal scuffs, but no deep scratches, cracks, or nicks. Some of the rubber feet may also have pad replacements. Keyboard, trackpad and mouse button are all good. I have confirmed that hard drives are good by wiping, verifying and reinstalling an OS in target disk mode, and confirmed the firewire and USB ports work. So, you have your optical drive replacement!! $42.50 includes shipping via Priority Mail with 1 day turnaround after receiving payment, so you can get one before the Holiday.
