I have here a PowerMac G5 that I got at a recent Ham Fest here in
Maryland. This is what I see with the machine.
It was really dirty so I blew it out and cleaned the insides before
starting the machine and I re-greased the processors with Arctic Silver.
The machine initially was crashing and hanging but after the Arctic
Silver it ran for a week without a problem. I shut it down for a few hours and
restarted and the crashes and hangs got worse. I decided I wanted the case
for another project so I am passing on the parts. If I had the original Apple
diagnostic disks I would bet on a MB problem from the errors I saw on the crash
but no guarantees.
So here is what I have to sell:
2 PowerPC 1.8GHZ processors with heat sink. These are rather large and
I don't have static bags large enough so you tell me how you want them wrapped
and I will do my best to follow through. - $40.00 each
1 - G5 power supply - $75.00
1 - Motherboard - May be good, may be bad - $30.00
1 - Dual Fan Pack - $15.00
Add roughly $20 for shipping any of the individual parts. If you want
multiple parts I will have to check the shipping cost.
