This machine is working but has issues. I think it took a liquid spill, but I don't have any info on it. It turns on, the display is bright and clear, the machine boots to my test drive, but the keyboard types everything in all caps. If you use an external keyboard it types fine. Other than that it appears fully functional.
So I am selling it to someone to use as a desktop replacement or for parts. MacBook Pro 15" unibody 2.53GHz Core i5. No hard drive. 2gb Ram (one by 2gb) Model #A1286 No hard drive. Only one bottom case screw. The hard drive mounting bracket is installed. You will need the necessary screws to secure the bottom case ($5-10 on eBay) and you will need the hard drive stand off screws so that the hard drive bracket can be effective. Boots fine. Runs off external drive with no issues. zIt is in cosmetically good condition. I would be happy to take and send pics. Asking $250 shipped in laptop box and insured. I am seeing these for more just as parts machines with no details on eBay. I also see an eBay listing for the keyboard assembly or $81 that would make this fully functional.
