Hello, Does anyone have a Pismo CPU upgrade? If so, please shoot me an email. I know Bill Gates said "500MHz ought to be enough for anybody*," but sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case here. : (
Secondly, I "need" another Pismo. At this point I would probably prefer a unit without memory, Airport card, or hard drive to help keep the cost down, but please tell me the specifications of the unit you have and we'll go from there. What I do require is: A unit with a bright, evenly illuminated (i.e. no dark patches) LCD screen with lots of life left and no pinkish tinge on startup. The screen hinges still need to be tight and capable of holding the screen at any angle. If there are any screen scratches, dead pixels, keyboard impressions, etc., please describe them so I know what you're offering. A tested/known good sound/AC board installed. All ports tight and tested/known good, with the IR port cover present and solidly attached to the unit. Any exceptions, please tell me. (Somewhat) Decent case cosmetics. Obviously a machine as old as a Pismo is not likely to look just-outta-the-box new, so please describe the cosmetics of your machine as best you can. A pic or two probably wouldn't hurt. (Preferably) A fully functional DVD drive. Here's what I don't (really) need included with the unit: AC adapter Battery Airport Card (or wireless card) Memory Hard drive Of course, if the machine you're offering comes with the above, please tell me. It's just that, given a choice, I'd probably prefer to forego them in the interests of affordability. Please let me know your asking price, shipped, for what you're offering. Shipping will be to zip 95132 (CA, SF Bay Area/San Jose) and I need the Pismo packed in a cardboard box. While I care a great deal about how well the Pismo is packed, I won't actually need it for ~a week, so Parcel Post/FedEx Ground/UPS is fine, just so long as whatever you're sending me is well-packed. I can pay via PayPal or (im)personal check, seeing as how PayPal is anathema to some folks. If you take Paypal, please be sure to tell me if you have the ability to accept both balance transfer and credit card-funded payments, or only the former. If you prefer a check, I understand that the check will need to clear before anything ships and am happy to allow more time for that. Thank you for reading.
