I've got a bunch of early MacBook Air laptops (the 1,1 model) in the 1.6 ghz variety.
One will boot and seemingly work ok, but it occasionally kernel panics. I'm sure it could be mended, I just don't have that much patience to deal with it right now. - 1.6 ghz Core 2 Duo, 2 gb of ram, 80gb hard drive (NOT THE SSD) I have the original box for the computer. Included are a number of MacBook Airs (2 or three) that are in various states of disrepair (i.e. the screen is no longer connected to the computer physically due to broken hinge, hard drive\SSD is missing, etc.) I'm sure that with some effort and a lazy Sunday afternoon, you could probably cobble together a decent little MacBook Air for tooling around with. It's a nice light, small laptop, and I was hoping to use it for automotive scan tool purposes (i.e. running Windows via Boot Camp to drive my VCDS interface, BMW scanner, etc.) For now, the Dell I've been using for that fits the bill good enough and it's probably better suited for a garage environment anyway. MacBook with magsafe in an environment chock full of metal filings... turns into a headache rather quickly. I'm looking to get $200 for the whole lot of these little machines shipped via UPS Ground.
