Hi Swappers,
the video card (NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT) in my 2006 24“ iMac died. I have tried
to fix it with the „baking“ method but it did´t come back.
I have 2 options now:
Get a different Graphics card and continue using the iMac or sell the whole
machine for parts/repair.

For option 1: I am willing to spend max $100 for a good replacement card or
trade one against some other stuff.
I have some working Titanium Powerbooks, a G4 Mac Mini, one G4 Aluminum
Powerbook, a G3 Powerbook PDQ, a G3 PowerMac, some 60GB SATA Desktop hard
drives, some white Apple Pro Keyboards, various Laptop RAM. Ask for details and
you can pick.
Would also accept another bad card, which hasn´t been „baked“ yet free for
shipping. Just to give it a try. I don´t need the heat sink. Just the bare card.

For option 2: I would sell the iMac AS IS with the bad Video Card and without
the original HD. Can throw in a wiped 60GB HD. It is the 2.16GHz model. Comes
with the original 1GB RAM and a Pro Keyboard. Good LCD, maybe 1 dead pixel, if
I remember correctly. Last time I used the machine, everything worked except
that the Video card started to create artifacts and lines. After the attempted
„baking“ fix the Video shows random squares as soon as the finder starts.
Would like to get $200 plus shipping. Would also trade against an Intel Mac
Mini or a 2Gen or newer Apple TV plus $100. Just make an offer. I Ship CONUS
only via USPS parcel.

For those, who are not familiar with the „bake“ procedure: It is a very common
issue that these Video cards develop hairline cracks within the solder joints.
Exposing the card to 385F in the oven for a couple of minutes can fix the bad
solder joints by melting the silver. Chance for a fix is about 50%. I had no
luck on this one.

Thanks
