Hi folks, I've got a 27" iMac up for sale. I picked up this iMac from the Swap List last year as a fixer-upper and have been using it for several months. The iMac has been fully repaired and tested, and all hardware passes Apple Software Diagnostics 100%.
Along the way, I also installed several upgrades. The optical drive has been swapped out for a 128GB Kingston solid-state drive, which makes the iMac fly through any workload I throw at it. The SSD has been paired with a 1 TB WD Caviar Green drive for storage. Both drives have the proper thermal sensors installed, and the fans have been operating normally since (this also means the iMac passes ASD/AST with no errors; software-based solutions produce a FAIL on ASD during the thermal sensor check). Full specs are as follows: * Intel Core i7-870 (Lynnfield) 2.93 GHz quad-core (8-thread w/ HT) processor * 8 GB DDR3 RAM (4x 2GB sticks) * 128GB SSD & 1 TB HDD, SSD has a clean install of Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and can be updated to Yosemite by the new owner * 27" LCD, 2560x1440 display * AMD Radeon HD 5750 with 1 GB VRAM Overall, the iMac is in great shape. There is a crack on the glass at the lower-left corner, however it is mostly on the black bezel. I've been running it without the glass panel for months now, as a matter of personal preference. The LCD itself is undamaged and free of marks or scratches. Pictures of the crack are available on request. Comes with the original box and packaging for shipping. I'm selling this off because I've moved everything over to a 15" Retina MacBook. I'm seeing fully working units going for $800-900 on eBay. Considering the cracked glass, upgrades, and work I've put into it, I'm looking for $700 plus actual cost of shipping to lower 48. A new glass panel costs under $100. PayPal preferred.
