Selling as-is cheap what was allegedly at one time a $1000 PCI video
capture card, bundled with Adobe Premier 4.2. In original box with original
paperwork, manuals, install CDs (as best i can tell. I’m not the original
owner).

The PCI card itself has S-video and RCA analog video inputs and outputs. No
audio on the card—the instructions say to use the Mac’s audio. NTSC and PAL
in and out (and also SECAM in, but not out) at common resolutions and frame
rates of the time (contact me if you need to know). M-JPEG compression.
Made circa 1996.

What is so hilarious about this product and why i’m selling it cheap and
not investing time into it is that it is a classic example of a Win PC
product tweaked as little as possible for the Mac market. The box is
all-PC, with two Mac stickers pasted on: one on the front letting people
know it’s the Mac version, and “Recommended Mac System” on the back:

Power Macintosh 7500, 7600, 8500, 9500
16 MB system RAM
1.0 GB free hard disk space
CD-ROM drive
TV monitor
Camcorder or VCR for video input device

There’s an addendum slip of paper with several stand-on-your-head
workarounds to make things work. I was a QA tester at Apple during this
time and tested with Adobe Premier 4.2 for awhile, which for me worked
fine, with built-in Apple A/V hardware (and no goofy workarounds). This
hardware and the drivers and any other software for the hardware?: i have
no idea. Looks flakey.

This fine museum piece, fully working per the last owner but never tested
by me, can be yours for a mere $25 (or best offer) if you pick it up
locally, or $25 + shipping otherwise. As a rough guideline, USPS is showing
$20-22 to an arbitrary midwest Zip code for this, packed into an imaginary
outer box i don’t yet have. Exact shipping/total price will be determined
from your actual address and once i have a real box and proper packing.
