I’ve had this Macbook sitting in a drawer for some time. This is the black
polycarbonate Macbook, A1181 - circa 2007-8.

Now, the issues with this unit:
- The battery appears to be dead, it had close to 900 cycles on it and now it
says “Check battery” under system profiler. Can’t get this thing to charge.
With a battery it should be completely usable.
- The screen’s backlight works, but kicks in/out depending on the screen angle.
If you get the angle correct it works just fine.
- There is a “line” of inactive pixels about 2” high slightly right of center
on the bottom of the screen (see photo)
- The DVD drive ejects discs only about 1/2 of the way out, otherwise working
fine.
- External cosmetic shape is fair, various scuffs/scratches, mostly on the
bottom (see photo). As is common with these laptops the top case chips near the
hand rests, and this computer has the issue about 3” on the right hand side.

Specs:
- 2.2 GHz Intel Core2Duo
- 300 GB WD hard drive (replaced, the stock drive failed)
- 4 GB memory (maximum for this model, PC2-5300 DDR)
- 8X Superdrive
- Have put a fresh install of OS X 10.5.6 on it.
- Original box is included, with some (but not all) of the accompanying
documentation.
- 60 W original magsafe with 2-prong adapter included.
