I used this set up along with my MacPro for years. Get any SATA drive, install it in one of the supplied drive sleds, and slide it into the bay.
There are TWO dual-Drive Bay units. Use the PCIe card to either set up a RAID or JBOD system (*Just a Bunch of Discs*). The connections on the rear of these units are L-SATA so you'll need the *included* cables (eSATA to L-SATA). I don't know for sure. It's been forever since I had it plugged in (since I wasn't using all four bays at once). However, the ideal buyer isn't going to care because they're going to know that if they went to Granite Digital and put together this package, they'd shell out $450 alone **just for the bays, card, and cables!** … that wouldn't even cover the 11 included hard drive sleds.
