On October 26, hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of people in the U.S. and
worldwide stood together to unequivocally oppose U.S. war against Iraq and
all attacks on the rights of the peoples. In the U.S., well over 250,000
people converged in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco, California for
national marches. Tens of thousands of people demonstrated in other U.S.
cities, including more than 10,000 in St. Paul, Minnesota; 7,000 in Seattle,
Washington; 1,000 in Madison, Wisconsin; and 650 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Thousands more demonstrated in Richmond, Virginia; Portland, Oregon;
Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Albany, Kingston, Syracuse and Yonkers, New York; St.
Louis, Missouri; and in cities reaching from across Maine to Honolulu,
Hawai'i.

Representing the will of the American people to win peace and change the
role of the U.S. in the world, wave after wave of demonstrators took to the
streets nationwide to demand that their will decide the direction of the
country. In D.C., protesters completely circled the White House. Reflecting
the growing drive to take matters into their own hands and recognizing that
it is up to the people themselves to win change one of the many chants
demanded, "Move Bush, Move Bush, Move Bush, Get Out of the Way!"
