This is odd, when I try "View source" in Firefox I get:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: chrome://global/content/viewSource.xul
Line Number 1, Column 2:

l<?xml version="1.0"?>
-^

e/region.properties"/>
-^

http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwebpages.charter.net%2Fedreamleo%2Ffront.html

finds only two errors, a missing alt tag, and HREF instead of href

I'm betting the problem's to do with the response headers:

I wonder if the Content-Type is wrong for xhtml?

http://www.w3.org/International/articles/serving-xhtml/

suggests application/xhtml+xml is a better MIME type

And of course there's always encoding issues.
