That's interesting (to me). When I went through school (high school in mid sixties), that was a topic that was at least mentioned (and maybe more--that was a long time ago). There were many (outside of school), who denied that. I don't keep up with current events all the time, which prompts this wondering--did Malthuse just get forgotten, or was there a conscious effort to ignore or suppress his thoughts, or what? Anyway, at the time, thoughts of Malthuse led some to thoughts of limited family size and so forth. If you grew up since then, what was the attitude in public (i.e., US public) schools about population growth and so forth?
