I'm not sure what you mean by "explicit user name".  In fact, the v
elements contain gnx's that start with the contents (first line) of
.leoID.txt.  Typically this is some supposedly unique string.

The purpose of gnx's is to guarantee uniqueness.  This is required to
handle clones properly.

In .leo files, gnx's are represented by "t" attributes within <v>
elements, and by corresponding "tx" attributes within <t> elements.
You are, of course, free to write a script that removes these
attributes, but then Leo won't be able to read the .leo file.

It would help if you could say why you dislike the "t" and "tx" elements.
