Well, that caution was shortlived. :) I just deleted everything in
myLeoSettings except for:

...and restarted Leo. Nothing seems untoward though there are a new
messages posted to the console which starts leo (but not to the log
pane) whenever any of the menus are opened:
QAccessibleWidget::rect: This implementation does not support
subelements! (ID 3 unknown for QMenuBar)
QAccessibleWidget::rect: This implementation does not support
subelements! (ID 4 unknown for QMenuBar)
QAccessibleWidget::rect: This implementation does not support
subelements! (ID 5 unknown for QMenuBar)
