The reason you were having troubles is that Leo didn't have entries
for matlab in various tables in leoApp.py.  Now it does.

Rev 4627 of the trunk adds those entries.

I've just checked that your workflow now does in fact work.  When you
refresh from disk, you will see @language matlab.

What was especially confusing was that Leo's colorizer *did*
understand how to colorize matlab, but without the table entries in
leoApp.py Leo did not know how to read and write external .m files.
