One of the things that has become a huge roadblock in being able to use Leo to do my day-to-day work is the inability to attach files to a .leo document quickly and easily. Most of the information I receive comes in form of big binary files.
What I typically have is a word document, powerpoint or whatever, and I need to attach to a node I'm editing, "for reference". I don't want to copy the document somewhere manually, look up the name, and add a relevant @mime / @url node for it. What I want is to drag a .ppt file to some place in the tree, and have the file automatically copied to a safe location under .leo file and a link to it created in the tree. If I had foo.leo, next to it I could envision a directory called foo.leo.attachments/, where all these files would reside. If I copied the .leo file to another machine, I would also have to copy this directory, but that's a price I would be easily willing to pay. foo.leo.attachments could easily be a .zip file as well - e.g. foo.leo.attachments.zip. I haven't started implementing this yet, but I hope to find the time at some point to get this thing moving. If someone else finds this is their personal itch as well, all the better ;-). -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "leo-editor" group.
