PR #3347 <https://github.com/leo-editor/leo-editor/pull/3347> is now in devel. The new code simplifies (often drastically) all of Leo's importers. The new code also contains stronger unit test.
The new importers use a different strategy for breaking files into nodes. Imo, the results are almost always better, but please let me know if you disagree. This code will form be part of leoJS.
