I read about this in the irreverent UK-based (originally, at least) online IT magazine The Register.
I was a bit flabbergasted/outraged, at least initially. TimOne is probably the Python 'guru' I have followed most closely, in the 25 years or so since I started writing Python. Tim actually posts in the comment section.
