@Thomas yeah the port can be specified like this by adding "--port=xxxx":
*npx webpack serve --mode=development --port=9000*

add --open to open a browser automatically (that's the difference between 
the 'dev' script and the 'start' script in package.json)
*npx webpack serve --mode=development --port=9000 --open*

Thanks to all for trying out this very early version and reporting those 
details, suggestions and issues. (This helps a lot!)

 I'll make another post when I've got something more usable with the basic 
functionality all implemented :D
