There indeed are some minor diffs to the ChangeLog, Makefile and magic files. The release announcement was at http://mx.gw.com/pipermail/file/2010/000534.html on 22nd Jan, but the tarball now on the download site was posted on the 24th, so it looks like it was indeed a stealth fixup release.
