It's not a kernel bug, it's a GCC 4.4.4 one, as detailed in this bug
report:
http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=45312
This does not happen with GCC 4.5.1, as detailed in both the kernel and
GCC bug reports, and 2.6.35.3 can be safely merged into the book.
