#4710: Tidy the new-style perl so that all modules are in /usr/lib --------------------+----------------------- Reporter: ken@… | Owner: lfs-book Type: task | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: 10.0 Component: Book | Version: SVN Severity: normal | Resolution: Keywords: | --------------------+-----------------------
Comment (by bdubbs): I was just stating my understanding, not making a change proposal. The idea of non-architecture dependent files in /usr/share goes back to the days where disks were small and expensive and /usr/share was on a remote system shared by all architectures. Today that is not really needed when m.2 SSDs are starting to approach $100/terabyte. -- Ticket URL: <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/ticket/4710#comment:3> LFS Trac <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/> Linux From Scratch: Your Distro, Your Rules. -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/listinfo/lfs-book FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
