Should HOSTNAME be set early in Ch6 to accomodate people who will 
eventually name their LFS differently from the host?  This applies easily 
to CLFS reboot methods and LiveCD installs.  Perl, maybe other packages, 
embed $HOSTNAME into the version/build information in the binary.
