As we know there are two packages in LFS that suffer the SuS V3 incompatibilies, I'm not sure of any distro's out there that are not setting the coreutils to build to it's current POSIX level, but what if one did.

Well, because of the pain currently involved, I doubt any distro has actually done it yet. http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-coreutils/2005-04/msg00169.html suggests this won't be an issue with the next release of coreutils, so it won't affect us from within our chroot/rebooted environment.

Should we start including the patches for binutils and gcc to prevent a possible error, or add it as an optional patch if a certain criteria fails, or should we not worry about it.

I see you went ahead and committed the necessary changes anyway. I suppose we could keep the patch in the temp-system, just in case some sadistic host (note we won't be limited to Linux distros now!) decided to go and conform to a standard for once. :)

Cheers,

Matt.

PS: Yes, this response is woefully late. Sorry!
