I'm not a big fan of such hard and fast rules. In this situation I would ask, "What is the bigger change? new toolchain or new build process?". I see no need for a 7.0 and an 8.0 in quick succession like we did from 3 to 4. Especially when you consider that by the time we wait for glibc HEAD to release, all the other major distros will undoubtedly already be using it, so I don't think it will be a big deal. -- Archaic Want control, education, and security from your operating system?
