Hello, Sorry for taking up valuable time.
I figured out the problem. I had these installed, which wasn't supposed to be: en_US en_US.ansix341968 en_US.iso88591 en_US.utf8 Now that i Have a better understanding. I deleted them from the archive then just installed en_US as the book states and all is well now.
