Thanks to Bruce and Joe for discovering the problem and the fix. The new patch worked perfectly. I added the patch (texinfo-4.8-tempfile_fix-2.patch) to the LFS repository, now all that needs to be done is for someone to update the SVN book. Good work, guys.
