I treat the ticket 1720 as presumably-closed if the bootscript changes

This mail to lfs-dev is only to state this, and ask for discussion if
such discussion is needed (IMHO, it is not needed).
IMO it's not needed either. I've not updated the ticket with the
results of my testing, but I can confirm that, like Archaic, the second
version of the "wait for uevents" loop works well. Admittedly I only
have USB devices to test with, but even /dev/hda4 fails to be created in
time for it to be mounted as my swap filesystem.
DJ, do you want me to commit the necessary bootscript changes, or do you
want to do that yourself?
I'm still playing catch up with this. Please go ahead and commit if it
fixes the problems you all are seeing. I see a different problem right
now with /dev/null not being available, but my devel system is old (well
3 weeks). I'm not exactly sure what all has changed beyond udev,
kernel, and gcc versions, but that just might be enough to invalidate a
bug report. :-) It's getting a fresh build courtesy of jhalfs tonight
for both this and the remaining X Font issues in BLFS. I'll use the old
script for now and update after the build completes.
Thanks.
