You downloaded it from an FTP mirror, right? The one in http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/patches/lfs/6.2/grub-0.97-disk_geometry-1.patch match the MD5 placed in the book. The diff between both is: diff -Nau mirror/grub-0.97-disk_geometry-1.patch LFS-6.2/grub-0.97-disk_geometry-1.patch --- mirror/grub-0.97-disk_geometry-1.patch 2006-08-24 19:39:16.511351456 +0200 +++ LFS-6.2/grub-0.97-disk_geometry-1.patch 2006-08-24 19:35:45.438439416 +0200 @@ -1,5 +1,5 @@ Submitted By: Jim Gifford <jim @ linuxfromscratch.org> -Date: 05-28-2008 +Date: 05-28-2006 Initial Package Version: 0.97 Upstream Status: Unknown Origin: Fedora and Mandriva The patch was updated to fix the date after the LFS-6.2 book was released, thus the book uses the old version while the FTP mirrors have the new version, but both are the same. -- Manuel Canales Esparcia Usuario de LFS nº2886: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org LFS en castellano: http://www.escomposlinux.org/lfs-es http://www.lfs-es.info TLDP-ES: http://es.tldp.org -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
