But how much of that is still valid? With the latest 2.x of syslog-ng, is it still asynchronous? Based my experiences and others, I don't think it's a problem anymore. The argument about chroot is bogus as you need patches for sysklogd to do that. It's not 'base functionality' that we're losing. I guess the comment about simplicity is still valid.
