Hi LFS and CLFS developers, As an ardent follower of these projects, I'd be very glad to see the two projects be one. In my opinion, they are gaining the same result by different techniques. If DIY is trying some cross compiling and LFS may go after it, then what's left to the name CLFS? I think it's right time to reunify the two if LFS is trying cross compiling.
As to what Alex wrote, I don't think it's so important for tools in Chapter 5 whether they can make use of freshly built gawk etc. I think it's a mystery that so few developers can maintain such huge projects. I think it would be more efficient (and too many other benefits to count) if more developers concentrate on ONE project but not two. I'm just an ordinary user giving my own opinion. I hope it doesn't disturb your decision making, but I want to speak a user's voice. -- Charles -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
