I second this suggestion. I would even recommend putting all the information
from the package list chapter (3.2) in the header. For example:

Linux (3.0.4) - 94,430 KB:
    Home page: http://www.kernel.org/
    Download: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.x/linux-3.0.4.tar.gz
    MD5 sum: 290efc43bd43a1682185e833045ce22c

Patches can also be listed if appropriate.
