Hi,

Does gcc pass1 & pass2 instructions need '--with-gmp...' (possibly also
'--with-mpc...') configure options (re-)added, or have mpfr/gmp/mpc listed
in the book's general host-requirements ('prologue/hostreqs.html') ?

Reason is that it looks like if host system doesn't have either of at
least gmp or mpfr - or gcc pass 1/2 can't locate them - then the gcc pass
1/2 build fails.

Fuller details are in the thread:

date: 2013 nov thru dec (some init posts of thread were iirc a bit earlier).
subject: GCC build first pass: mpc build looks for libgmp.la in the wrong place

A summary wrt possible book adjustments, is at:

  https://www.mail-archive.com/lfs-support@linuxfromscratch.org/msg21219.html

(Can re-include message inline here if preferred (is that method preferred,
or is web-links to acting archives ok)). As noted in/ca that message,
the trac-recorded history of gcc pass1/2 wrt these config options, looks
perhaps a bit unusual ca lfs-6.8/7.0 ; looks like maybe something got
omitted/'dropped-between-two-stools' inadvertently?
